Edgar Livingston

 

     
             Grandmaster Edgar Livingston started his Martial Arts training in January of 1971 with Yang Style Tai Chi.  Since then he has learned the Southern Hung Gar, Southern Praying Mantis, Northern Seven Star Praying Mantis, Northern Shaolin Chang Chuan, Tai Tzu Chang Chaun, Pa Qua, Tzu Jen Men, Hsing I along with Acupressure, Chi Kung and Chinese Herbal Medicine.  He has had the privilege of studying under Kung Fu legends as: T.T. Liang, Kay Chi Liaung, Gin Foon Mark, Zhao Yuh Feng, Gin Soon and Wu Tai Lee.  All of Grandmaster Livingston's teachers had a minimum of fifty years experience in their respected styles, and most were over seventy when Livingston started studying from them.  He would train at least four hours a day, at times training at two different schools at a time.

              Grandmaster Livingston has competed in many local, national, and international competitions, competing in forms, weapons divisions, light contact, and full contact sparring.  He was one of the first to compete in Karate forms division using Kung Fu forms before there were Kung Fu tournaments in the United States.  Livingston was the first in the United States to introduce Tai Chi to Form Competition.  Along with a few others, Livingston got Karate tournament directors to create a separate Form Division for Kung Fu competitors, making the way for Kung Fu to eventually have their own tournaments.

                Grandmaster Livingston has been inducted into many Hall of Fames, been featured in Who's Who in American Martial Arts 3rd Edition, at the 6th World Cup he received one of the one-hundred Exceptional Martial Artists in the World Gold Medal Awards, and has been recognized by many Martial Arts organizations around the world.  He has also been written about in several Martial Arts magazines.

                      Grandmaster Livingston is the President of the C.F.A. Lion's Roar Spirit Association and Vice President of World Organization of mixed Martial Arts (WOMA), through Pappasan.  He is also a member of the Kou Shu Federation in the United States and in Taiwan, and Ching Woo in Shanghai, China.  He is a former President of a Chin Woo Branch, Cloud Forest Association, and Vice President of the American Chinese Acupressure Chin Kung Association and the Executive Advisor for the Head of Family Organization.
